Biology at CHS!!

Wow! We've kicked off the 2008-09 school year and are going strong in Biology classes! We are starting a class project soon to get every student involved in blogging. They are already doing this in English classes, but my idea for Biology is to get students interested in the current events that are out there related to science (specifically biological science). I have always wanted to have students do current events in my class, and this seems the perfect way to achieve that. The template for posting about current events is coming soon...but I just wanted you to start thinking about what your first post might be. Anything related to Biology will be appropriate (i.e. ecology, health, medical advances, wildlife, cellular biology, etc.). There is so much out there and everywhere you turn you are hearing about current research that involves nature (i.e. effects of global warming) or medicine and human health. I can't wait to see what kind of information my students can find and how this information will influence them (which is what they will "blog" about). So start listening and watching for anything science related and we'll all be blogging about Biology very soon!
